I looked at a lot of different products before buying this one. I needed something to shield our composite (Trex) deck from our 20 inch diameter wood burning fire pit, which sits elevated about 6 inches off the ground. The mat appears to work great. The quality is superb -- much better than anything I've seen on Amazon. I've had the pit burning kiln dried hardwood for 3-4 hours at a time without issue, and I've used it with the mat at least 10 times. (I do use an ember shield to contain the large sparks to the pit, which could otherwise burn the deck surface.) It was well worth the money.
